| After the building of the alley, handball flourished in the 30's, 40's, and 50's when it lapsed for a time to be revived again in the late 60's.
Several marvellous tournaments were held throughout the years. however in later years (the 70's, 80's and 90's), the handball alley was neglected until it's demolishment in year 2000.
In recent years with the construction of a new handball alley at the club GAA grounds (as pictured), handball is once again a thriving sport among Drumkeerin GAA club.
